You administer medication to a patent at 10 PM.How should this be documented in military time? You administer medication to a patient at 9 AM.What time does this indicate? Include AM or PM. As you prepare to administer a PRN dose of pain medication, you notice the previous dose was administered at 0030.For instance, zero nine hundred is how you read 9 AM, and twenty-one hundred is how you read 9 PM. To tell the hour, you need to read in hundreds rather than thousands. A patient has a medication scheduled for 1930. First of all, remember that the military clock runs from 0000 (zero-zero-zero-zero hours) to 2359 (twenty-three hundred fifty-nine hours). The answers are found in the Answer Key (Math Calculations Chapter section) at the end of the book. Practice converting military time using the following problems. Conversion of a PM time to military time involves removing the colon and adding 1200 to the time.Conversion of an AM time to military time simply involves removing the colon and adding a zero to the time.See Figure 5.5 for an example clock and Table 5.3 for a military time conversion chart. For example, instead of stating medication is due at 7 AM and 7 PM, it is documented on the medication administration record (MAR) as due at 07. The use of military time reduces potential confusion that may be caused by using AM and PM and also avoids potential duplication when giving scheduled medications. ![]() Using military time is the standard method used to indicate time for medication administration. It is also referred to as using a 24-hour clock. Military time is a method of measuring the time based on the full 24 hours of the day rather than two groups of 12 hours indicated by AM and PM.

If you want something that goes more in-depth, I would highly suggest JackSparrow's or Ortho528's decks. I for one just augmented MileDown's P/S deck with the 100 page KA document (skimmed through it and focused on areas that I didn't know too well). If you want something for P/S, I would recommend using Cubene's P/S or PsychAnswer4U's P/S deck. That being said, MileDown's essential equations deck is golden. It's good if you're aiming for sub-515 but I find that for the most part, it just isn't comprehensive enough for a super high score (keep in mind that Miledown scored a 516). It also uses Cloze Deletions, which can have the tendency to test recognition rather than recall. You could easily finish it in about 2 weeks if you tried. I managed to finish it in about 1 month and dedicating around 2 hours a day learning/reviewing cards. It's not as comprehensive as some other decks but it does the job if you don't have the time to commit to Anki.
Auto Shack stores were clean and bright, and the company emphasized friendly, helpful service. This initially meant that many Auto Shack stores stayed open all night. In addition, the company tried to locate its stores in neighborhoods where people who worked on their cars lived and to keep its stores open at hours when its customers were not otherwise occupied at work. To serve these customers, Auto Shack sought to establish quality and expert advice from employees as a hallmark of its business plan. In addition to these customers, the company identified a pool of potential buyers as 'shade tree mechanics,' that is, those who worked on other people's cars in their spare time as a source of extra income, and 'buy-it-yourselfers,' those who lacked the expertise to do the work themselves but who bought parts and then hired others to install them. The company aimed to provide a wide selection of auto parts at a low price to do-it-yourselfers-what it referred to as the DIY market. The idea behind Auto Shack was straightforward. To support further expansion, Hyde opened a 12,000-square-foot warehouse in Memphis, and by the end of the first year seven more stores in Arkansas and Tennessee had made their debut. The company had 25 people on its payroll at the time. Hyde's entry into the retail auto parts market came on July 4, 1979, when he opened his first store, named Auto Shack, in Forrest City, Arkansas. He began with drug stores, founding Super D Drugs at age 26, and then moved on to sporting goods stores, supermarkets, and, finally, automobile parts stores. The younger Hyde expanded the family business considerably. The company, a wholesale grocery business, had been founded by his grandfather in 1907. What are the mass numbers of the naturally occurr ing isotopes of magnesium shown in Model 1?ĭo all of the atoms of magnesium in Model 1 have the same atomic mass? Explain.įor the sample of 20 atoms of magnesium shown in Model 1, draw a table indicating the mass numbers of the three isotopes and the number of atoms of each isotope present. Write in the atomic number for each Mg atom in Model 1. So which mass is put on the periodic table for each element? Is it the most common isotope’s mass? The heaviest mass? This activity will help answer that question. Those isotopes have the same atomic number (number of protons), making them belong to the same ele-ment, but they have different mass numbers (total number of protons and neutrons) giving them differ-Įnt atomic masses. So technically, both atomic mass and average atomic mass are atomic masses, but one represents a single atom, and the other represents the average of the isotopes.Average Atomic Mass 1 How are the masses on the periodic table determined? Average Atomic Mass Why? Most elements have more than one naturally occurring isotope. It is the abundance of isotopes of an element found naturally, expressed in percentages. Its unit is also amu.īut the average atomic mass depends on one more critical aspect, the isotopic abundance. The average atomic mass expresses the atomic mass of elements with isotopes. Isotopes became the reason for calculating the average atomic masses, as we must consider an element's isotopes. ![]() Then came isotopes, the atoms that differ slightly in atomic masses due to the varying number of neutrons in their nucleus. The unit of atomic mass is non-SI, amu (atomic mass unit). This calculation gives us the mass of a single atom of an element. But we can figure it out by adding up the number of protons and neutrons in the nucleus of an atom. It is the mass of a single atom of that element.Įxperimentally it is calculated by mass spectrometry (an analytical technique used to measure the mass-to-charge ratio of ions). ![]() We have been familiar with the atomic mass of an element since we started learning about elements and their atoms. ![]() You can only go for three days without water.
